Money Mentor Profile | Rebeca Lemus @ Tarleton State University
By Amanda Draper, National Content Director at Money Mentor
How I’m Involved
I am currently in the process to become a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success. I am part of the department of Parking and Transportation.
Some of my hobbies include being in front of my computer for long periods of time, watching anime, watching Korean dramas, and listening to different types of music.
What I Want High School Students to Know
I wish I knew that there was a fee for applying for a payment plan to pay your tuition. It’s not a large fee but I still wish that someone would’ve told me that there was a fee for choosing a payment plan. Your Money Mentor could definitely help you with that. The Best Class I’ve Taken So Far
The best I’ve taken so far has to be Technical Writing and Documentation. I would say that all my animal science courses are pretty cool but Technical Writing and Documentation is very important. This class helps us understand how to write in a workplace and how different it is from our previous English classes. This course is preparing us for when we have jobs and I think it’s really cool.
Plans for After I Graduate
After I graduate from Tarleton and hopefully from graduate school, I want to be able to help the animal shelters and humane societies in Texas. I want to use my skills and knowledge, as well as my love for animals, to help any animal that has been abandoned or mistreated. I also want to work for a veterinary clinic for sometime and somewhere near the future have my own animal clinic and shelter.
Working at Money Mentor
My experience being a Money Mentor so far has been amazing! It's very eye opening knowing how many students don't know where to start when it comes to applying for college, scholarships or the FAFSA. Recently, I helped a student find more colleges other than the ones she had in mind and that's a good plan to have. Sign up here: https://www.money-mentor.com/.
